This is a licence agreement between you and Pixly that describes how you can use the images, vectors, video clips, and other materials (referred to as “content” individually and collectively) that you have licenced from Pixly. You agree to the terms of this agreement by downloading content from PIXLY.

Which licences categories does PIXLY offer? Three different licence options are available from PIXLY: royalty-free (“RF”), rights-ready (“RR”), and rights-managed (“RM”). Royalty-free does not imply that the licence is free of charge. Instead, royalty-free refers to the situation where the licence charge is only paid once and no further royalties are due if the item is reproduced. The price of royalty-free content is determined by the file size, and it is licenced for perpetual, worldwide use. The pricing of rights-managed and rights-ready content is determined by parameters like size, placement, time of usage, and regional distribution, and it is licenced for specified uses.

For as long as 30 days after downloading, you are free to utilise content from the PIXLY website for test or sample (composite or comp) purposes only. However, content cannot be used in any finished products or publicly accessible materials without a licence. For comp use, no other rights or warranties are given.

How do I utilise content that is licenced? You are free to use licenced content in any manner that complies with the permissions provided here. “Use” in this agreement refers to any copying, reproducing, editing, synchronising, performing, displaying, broadcasting, publishing, or other use of the Licenced Material.

No Illegal Use: You are prohibited from using content in a pornographic, defamatory, or other illegal manner, to incite violence or hatred, or in violation of any laws, industry codes, or restrictions that may be in effect (including, for sports-related content, any rules or credentials given by a sports league or governing body).

The editorial content cannot be changed. If the editorial integrity of the content is not compromised, you may crop or otherwise edit content that has been designated as “editorial” or “intended for editorial,” but you may not make any other changes to the content.

No use of standalone files: It is forbidden to use content in any way that makes it possible for others to obtain, extract, or distribute it in standalone form (i.e., simply the content file, independent of the project or end use).

Without a disclaimer, no sensitive use: If you use content that includes models or property in relation to a topic that, to a reasonable person, would be unflattering or overly contentious (such as sexually transmitted diseases), you must (1) indicate that the content is being used merely for illustration and (2) that any person depicted in the content is a model. For content that is designated as “editorial” or “intended for editorial” and is utilised in a non-misleading editorial manner, no disclaimer is necessary.

No Authorship Misrepresentation: Falsely claiming to be the original author of a work mostly composed of licenced content is prohibited. You cannot, for example, claim to be the author of artwork that is completely based on licenced content.
